Specific Need

As The Arc of Central Plains celebrates 60 years of serving individuals with disabilities, we are also preparing for an exciting new chapter: moving into a larger space that will allow us to serve more people, accept more donations and expand the programs and opportunities we provide.

Through Give Fest, donations to the Arc Cares Fund will help us make more dollars available for individuals with disabilities who need assistance with expenses, medical devices and other needs. Funds also support grants to local special education programs, accessibility projects and other Arc programs. With Give Fest matching dollars, your gift can help us extend that impact even further.

Mission

The Arc of Central Plains empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, connected and fulfilling lives. We work to create opportunities, promote inclusion and accessibility, and provide support for individuals and families throughout our community.

Profile

The Arc of Central Plains has been part of the Hays community for 60 years, and we are excited to celebrate that milestone by looking ahead to what comes next.

Our Arc Cares Fund helps us respond to needs and create opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. Eight percent of all sales from our thrift store is contributed to the fund each year, and Give Fest provides another opportunity to grow those resources and make even more impact!

The fund can help individuals with disabilities with expenses, medical devices and other needs. It also supports grants to local special education programs, accessibility improvements that make community spaces more inclusive, and other Arc programs.

Our work extends well beyond these grants. The Arc supports a Special Olympics program that provides competition, friendships and meaningful experiences for athletes. Buffalo Adventures creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in unique community experiences. Harvest Hays, our newest endeavor, is creating additional opportunities for employment, connection, and purpose.

As we move into a larger space, we are excited about the ability to serve more customers, hire more employees with disabilities, accept more donations and expand the programs and opportunities available to the people we serve.

For 60 years, our community has helped The Arc of Central Plains make a difference. Give Fest is another way to help us make an even greater impact in the years ahead.
