Specific Need
The Ellis County Youth Action Council is raising funds for a community art project that will install a life-sized fiberglass bison statue throughout Ellis County. Designed to reflect the voices and creativity of local youth, the statue will promote community pride and visibility for young leaders. Your support will help cover design, materials, and installation costs for this unique, youth-led public art piece.Mission
The mission of the Youth Action Council is to empower youth to be involved in community decision-making, encourage active participation in local initiatives, cultivate a spirit of philanthropy, and foster a deeper sense of pride in the communities they call home.Profile
The Youth Action Council (YAC) empowers high school students in Ellis, Rooks, and Trego counties to become thoughtful leaders and active participants in their communities. Through this Heartland Community Foundation initiative, students learn about philanthropy by reviewing real grant applications, allocating funds to youth-focused causes, and identifying local needs from a peer perspective.
Each county council is also leading a hands-on project to address a specific challenge in their area — from mental health awareness to community connection. Along the way, members build skills in collaboration, decision-making, and civic leadership. A gift to YAC during Give Fest supports youth-led grantmaking, service projects, and the growth of the next generation of changemakers.
